- Satellite and Cable TV
- Telephone
- Water
- Gas
- Electricity
- Newspaper
- Lawn service
- Diaper service
- Laundry service
- Bakery
- Garbage collection
- Pick up dry cleaning, laundry
- Shoes at repair shop
- Defrost refrigerator/freezer
- Arrange for serviceman to get appliances ready to move
- Make sure portable gas grill tank is empty for the move
- Get transcript from children's school
- Get credit references for new city
- Buy travelers checks to cover expenses until you get to a bank
- Return library books
- Return any borrowed items to friends
- Round up things borrowed from you
- Notify post office of forwarding address
- Get dental and medical records of X-rays, shots, eyeglasses
- Transfer bank account, empty safe deposit box
- Make sure insurance on personal possessions is in force during and after the move
- Instruct phone company that you want a new number message on your old number for 6 or 12 months
- Get new dial up number to access the internet in your new city
